PARKER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL ANNOUNCES 2005 CORNERSTONE AWARD WINNER

 

PARKER, CO - The Board of Directors of the Parker Economic Development Council (PEDC) is pleased to announce that Mr. Erik M. Jensen has been awarded the prestigious Cornerstone Award for 2005.  Mr. Jensen will be formally recognized during the PEDC’s Annual Cornerstone Awards Luncheon on February 7, 2006 at The Wildlife Experience in Parker.  The Cornerstone Award was created in 1997 to honor leaders in the Parker community who have shown a commitment to help pioneer and nurture the development of the Town of Parker.  This award recognizes the highest level of civic and professional involvement in our community.  Mr. Jensen is the Chief Executive Officer of Castle Rock Construction and was instrumental in the early infrastructure development of Parker. Included in his numerous roadway development projects are the first new streets in Parker after its incorporation in 1981 (East Mainstreet and Pikes Peak Drive), Highway 83 (Parker Road), between Lincoln and Bayou Gulch, Motsenbocker Road, between West Parker and Stroh Roads, Hilltop Road and Crowfoot Valley Road.  Without this key roadway infrastructure development and construction, the subsequent economic development of the area would not have been possible.  Mr. Jensen has also given of his time, talents and resources in various community projects, such as providing concrete work for Parker’s Xeriscape Garden Project, providing a covered bridge and a water hazard for Salisbury Park, and providing curb, gutter and concrete flatwork for the Parker Senior Citizens Center.  Over the past 25 years, he has also been an active leader in the community by serving in many significant organizations and capacities, including the Parker Economic Development Council Board of Directors, President of the Colorado Contractors Association, President of the Colorado Concrete Paving Association, President of the Colorado Driving Society, The Colorado Horse Park Board of Directors and the Parker Chamber of Commerce.  Erik Jensen will joined past Cornerstone Award recipients Jim Nicholson, Dennis Niewohner, Dean Salisbury, Dale Farmer, Frank Jaeger, Mike May, Sandy Larsen and Stevan Strain.
