Community Events and Activities

Fall/Winter Community Engagement Activities

With large-scale gatherings temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 and health restrictions, we aren’t able to bring the community our traditional season of events, including the Mayor’s Holiday Lighting and the Parker Christmas Carriage Parade.  However, Town staff has been creatively working to find other ways for our community stay engaged and show their hometown spirit! We are excited to announce a new and creative season of 2020 activities.

Parker Porch Parade Series Presented by Xfinity

The community is invited to celebrate with the Town of Parker by decorating your front porches, yards, patios or balconies for the holidays (Dec. 3 through Dec. 20)!  Unleash your creativity, bring a smile to your friends and neighbors, and WIN PRIZES!  The Town of Parker will produce a virtual map with the locations of all our registered Porches, so you can plan a walk or drive around your neighborhood and the community to see and share in the celebration.  For more information visit

Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 20

Downtown Parker will come alive for the 2020 holiday season.  The Town of Parker has added some fun décor around downtown Parker for the holidays.  Visit Candy Cane Lane at Discovery Park, Toyland on Mainstreet and Santa's Workshop at O'Brien Park for a fun family selfie - it might even be a great addition to your family holiday cards!

The Town of Parker has also invited seasonal holiday characters to join us downtown this holiday season.  Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, one of Santa’s elves, a toy soldier, a gingerbread man and a Christmas tree and will stroll through downtown noon to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 20. Please remember to keep a social distance of six feet from these characters as they entertain.

Where in Downtown Parker is the Xfinity Elf?

In addition to the festive holiday lights and décor the Town invites you to an Elf Around Town Scavenger Hunt!  This holiday season, on Saturdays and Sundays leading up to Christmas (Nov. 28 through Dec. 20), the Town of Parker and Xfinity invite you and your family to find one of Santa’s real live elves around downtown Parker.  If you see the Xfinity elf around town, take a picture of him and post the picture on the Town’s Facebook page or email us sharing where around town you saw him!  Everyone that does this will be entered into a drawing for a TV! *Town staff and families not eligible to participate.

A Special Thank you to Town Sponsors!

We want to take this time to say thank you to a very special group - our amazing sponsors.  During a regular event season, sponsors play a large part in helping us bring events to our community.  2020 events would absolutely not have been possible without these partners and friends!  This dedicated group rolled with all the changes and stayed committed to our community.  The Town of Parker would like to thank: Camp Bow Wow, Care Now, Douglas County Libraries, Ent Credit Union, Jet’s Pizza, Mile High Kona Ice, Parker Party America, the Outdoor Channel, Patricia J. Stone, PC, Vitalant, WeChef Kitchen and Xfinity
