Purchasing an Existing Business

Purchasing an existing business requires a few additional steps:
  • Please submit your business and tax license application at least 2 weeks prior to your anticipated purchase date
  • Request the current owner provide you with documentation indicating their account is in good standing with the Town as any outstanding tax liability will stay with the business
  • File a purchase of business return within 20 days of the sale.
